Iran sets dollar purchase limits under new guideline
Bilge Kotan10/22/2026

Iranian authorities have issued new guidelines allowing individuals to buy up to $10,000 from banks and currency exchanges, subject to a daily limit of $1,000, the Fars news agency reported. The rules come as sanctions strain the country’s financial system. Customers can buy between $100 and $1,000 using their bank cards and national ID cards. Selected bank branches and exchange offices continue to sell dollar banknotes at the official rate, with applicants submitting requests through designated systems.
