Putin lavishes praise on Iran, reiterates offer to hold uranium

"The whole world is focused on what is happening and is amazed at the courage and heroism of the Iranian nation and its resilience," he said. Speaking in Moscow at the Valdai Forum, he added that Russia's earlier proposal to hold Iran's supply of enriched uranium, if removed from the country as part of a peace deal with the US, remains on the table. Iran and Russia have had strong ties for years amid mutual isolation from the international financial order, given US sanctions.
